Jewelry Care
CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY
Made to be worn.
Made to be cared for.
Each Kathy Ross piece is individually handcrafted and deserves a little care to preserve its appearance and character over time.
Everyday Care
Jewelry naturally changes with wear, but a few simple habits can help keep your pieces looking their best.
- Put your jewelry on after applying perfume, cosmetics, lotions or hairspray.
- Avoid prolonged contact with water, chemicals and household cleaning products.
- Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping.
- Handle sculptural and delicate pieces carefully to help maintain their original form.
Cleaning
After wearing your jewelry, gently wipe it with a clean, soft and dry cloth before storing it.
Avoid abrasive cloths, harsh chemicals or strong jewelry cleaners unless they are specifically suitable for the material and finish of your piece. Jewelry containing stones or special finishes may require additional care.
Storage
Store each piece separately in a clean, dry place, ideally inside its original pouch, box or another soft jewelry pouch.
Keeping jewelry pieces separated helps prevent scratching, tangling and unnecessary contact between different metals and surfaces.
Natural Changes Over Time
Handmade jewelry is meant to be lived with. Depending on the material, finish, environment and frequency of wear, the surface of a piece may naturally evolve over time. These subtle changes are part of the individual character and story that your jewelry develops through wear.
