Jewelry has always
been part of
my story.
For me, jewelry has never been only about the material. It is about memory, identity, craftsmanship and the stories we carry with us.
WHERE IT BEGAN
The story
of my life.
My fascination with jewelry began long before I understood how it was made.
My great-grandmother had a pouch filled with her jewelry — pieces she had carried hidden in her clothes when she came from Istanbul to Thessaloniki.
She called it “the story of my life.”
That stayed with me. It made me understand that what makes jewelry precious is not only the material itself, but the story of the maker, the person who wears it, the memories connected to it and the feeling that remains every time the piece is touched or worn.
A piece becomes truly precious when it becomes part of someone's memories and personal expression.
BECOMING A MAKER
When everything
came together.
I had collected and worn jewelry throughout my life, but learning metalsmithing changed everything.
Suddenly, the ideas I carried in my imagination could become something physical. I could sketch a form, transfer it into metal and make the jewelry I wanted to exist.
For whatever reason, working with metal felt immediately like a part of who I was.

Inspiration can come from almost anywhere. Ancient cultures, nature, geometry and architecture can be as influential as a dream, a journey or an unexpected detail.
Jewelry is both a statement and a medium of expression — for the person who creates it and for the person who chooses to wear it.

My studio in Thessaloniki is a working space filled with tools, materials, experiments and unfinished ideas. Every Kathy Ross piece passes through this bench and through my hands before it leaves the studio.
